Senior Reactor Technology Instructor

As a Senior Reactor Technology Instructor, you will design, develop, implement, and maintain training modules and associated materials within the commercial nuclear power plant family of designs, regulatory programs, and associated technical areas to initially teach and continually maintain regional and program office inspection and staff personnel with the level of technical and regulatory knowledge necessary to perform their assigned job functions.
You will also act as task leader for development of new courses and curriculum areas and major modifications to existing curriculum areas; act as cognizant instructor/course director for assigned curriculum area(s); provide instruction in both classroom and simulator environments; develop and administer examinations to evaluate the level of understanding of attendees upon completion of specified phases of the training programs; provide expert technical assistance to NRC staff in the area of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) design, instrumentation, control and operations; and serve as Project Officer and technical monitor for assigned technical training contracts.
This position is not subject to the security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of nuclear reactor facility design and operation and experience with development and implementation of training programs.
Examples of specialized experience include (but are not limited to):
work experience that required a Reactor Operator/Senior Reactor Operator (RO/SRO) license or certification, Shift Technical Advisor qualification, or Instructor certification; experience with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process; or experience as a Senior Resident/Resident Inspector.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
