Physician Supervisor (Primary Care)

The Physician Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of all Primary Care clinicians (MD, DO, NP and PA) assigned to their duty location. This responsibility includes the maintenance of coverage schedules, approval of clinic cancellations (emergent and routine), approval of clinician leave, as well as mid-year and annual reviews of clinician performance and enforcement of any necessary clinician discipline. The Physician Supervisor is required to deliver appropriate communication of department priorities, standard operating procedures and agenda items to clinicians via monthly or more frequent meetings and emails. The Physician Supervisor will report to the respective Chief Medical Officer to improve and provide medical care delivery, as well as implement plans for the delivery of outpatient care to Veterans, consistent with the policies and guidelines of the Veterans Health Administration and applicable Joint Commission standards. Duties include but are not limited to:
Leadership acumen sufficient to provide direction for single and complex programs in the delivery of Ambulatory Care services to outpatients. Coordinates care for a panel of outpatients as assigned by TVHS Evaluate and treat acute and chronic health problems for scheduled and unscheduled patients in the clinic setting. Perform histories and physical exams. Provides appropriate documentation to minimally include history, physical exam findings, diagnosis, definitive care plan and disposition of the patient. Ensures that patient encounters are appropriately closed-out including disposition that clearly indicates the next steps of care. Ensures that each patient is provided a list of current medications and an appointment list at close-out. Perform office procedures contained within their approved privileges. Prescribe medications as appropriate. Order routine laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests and provide initial interpretation of results. Communicate test results to patients. Respond to questions and other inquiries from patients. Initiate or expedite requests for consultations and special tests. Provide education to the patient and family as necessary. Order immunizations and other preventive or screening services as necessary. Screen patients to determine the need for hospitalization. Perform Basic Life Support as necessary. Communicate clinical findings to other providers using the Computerized Patient Record System. Function as the managing physician for nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants as assigned by TVHS. Function as a preceptor for residents in the clinic setting as assigned by TVHS. Authorized This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Two years supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills. Board certified physician in his/her specialty. Reference:

Normal safety precautions while working in an office/clinic or inpatient unit type environment, which is well lighted, clean and does not present hazards to personal safety. There may be occasional risk of physical harm, which requires special precautions and training. The incumbent may be exposed to infectious diseases and medical/psychiatric emergencies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
