We currently are seeking qualified candidates for an excellent career and leadership opportunity as an Assurance Manager in our Financial Services Office.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year. Establish expectations of value to be delivered. Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues. Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk.
Understand the client''s industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments. Stay informed of general business/economic developments and their impact to the client.
Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Delegate work successfully. Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Lead by example.
Demonstrate willingness and ability to participate in advisory-related engagements, as required.
Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams. Monitor the engagement team''s progress against the plan and alter it when needed.
Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.
Demonstrate willingness and ability to travel outside your work location to designated client engagements. It is therefore essential that all professional staff possess a valid driver''s license in the US and/or is in the process of obtaining one. Access to adequate transportation is needed in all locations.
To qualify, candidates must have:
a bachelor''s degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
a degree in accounting, business or finance
approximately 4 years of experience working as an auditor for a public accounting firm
deep experience serving clients in the insurance industry which may include life, health, property and casualty, reinsurance, or similar institutions
an active US CPA certification or foreign equivalent (Chartered Accountant or Chartered Certified Accountant)
experience participating in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship building
managerial experience leading project teams in a professional services environment
excellent project management skills
advanced written and verbal communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
