Summary:
Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures.
Education:
Required:
ARDMS (compliant with all continuing education mandates) or A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program, Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/ (compliant with all continuing education mandates),) and an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS or
Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS or
Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with on-the-job training in diagnostic ultrasound and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS.

Required:
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience
Basic computer experience required (1-2 years' work experience or college level classes)
Preferred:
One-year prior hospital experience in ultrasound
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
One of the following:
1) ARRT and ARDMS registered
2) ARDMS registered
3) ARDMS registry eligible (certification with one year)
BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

Department Position
Summary:
This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of ultrasound equipment to create high quality images. Excellent communication and rapport with physicians is required. Operates imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position and immobilize patient, Positions imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination and patient condition. Key commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images. Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality. Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician. Obtains proper history and reason for exam.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
