Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional duties associated with client benefits.
Some of the duties will be processing payments for individuals served for expenses related to their rent, utilities and other spending.
The Specialist will be responsible for applying for the Orange Grove Center to become representative payee and applies for SSA or SSI benefits for clients.
They will be responsible for filing Annual Reviews with the Department of Human Services, applying for food stamps for clients who qualify and maintains card program and issuing financial statements to clients' families and answering any inquiries with regard to client funds.
The specialist will assist Director of Finance during annual audit and periodic agency reviews and prepare check requests from client accounts for various departments.
They will also perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND JOB
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED.
Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred with least five (5) years accounting experience.
Must be a self-starter who is able to multi-task effectively in a constantly changing environment.
Must be very proficient in use of MS Excel, MS Office and QuickBooks.
Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills are required.
Attention to detail is a must.
Physical Requirements:
Good overall physical health and personal stamina.
This is a sedentary position requiring repetitive movements using a mouse and keyboard and requiring constant screen viewing.
