1K a year 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Editor (At Office & Remote - Must Be Located in Chattanooga, TN Area) Roles and Responsibilities Manage designated publications and sections of publications by developing and executing editorial content to CMC Publications standards for print and online, while maintaining accuracy and overall consistency within brand guidelines.
Assist with development of plan for each publication.
Research and preparation for editorial plan; visual plan Thorough research to become familiar with and reach a full understanding of any given topic for editorial.
Establish guide sheets, assign articles, manage freelancers to deadlines, word count, style, etc.
Write, edit, and proofread articles.
As needed, assign photography, organize visuals, and secure visuals for publications.
Schedule photo sessions (if needed), work with outside parties to secure pertinent visuals.
Complete captions for visuals included in articles using knowledge of content.
Proofread all materials and in some cases send for review by external party.
Communicate with clients.
Assist publisher with communication to any parties involved with publications.
Monitor completion of each publication using project management skills and software to track progress and oversee execution.
Update progress on shared drive for all projects.
As needed, assist with distribution plans and execution of deliveries.
Assist with website content if needed.
Skills and Qualifications Required for Fulfilling Role Enjoy working with people; excellent communication skills.

Capable of switching between magazines, topics, and projects.
Capable of and enjoy researching new and unfamiliar topics.
Excellent understanding of English language including grammar.
