As an important member of our team, Housekeeping performs all day-to-day cleaning services needed to ensure a clean and attractive facility in accordance with all applicable YMCA standards.
Your role will be to clean and sanitize assigned areas throughout the facility, including male locker rooms.
Essential Functions:
Ensures the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain upkeep of assigned area and equipment in a timely manner Performs duties such as wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and other general cleaning Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed Ensures the entire YMCA facility is secure during shift, and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies when needed May assist in the set up and take down of furniture for events May wash laundry Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Six months or more of related experience preferred Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Ability to report and record maintenance requests Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties Must be able to lift 25lbs Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms Ability to clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy Ability to perform duties which may include:
semi - reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces:
underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back THE Y:
