POSITION
Summary:
Responsible for creating and maintaining appropriate levels of operational focus, integrity and control strategies within a group of branches.
Acts as a functional liaison for operational activities between Market Leadership, Platform Sales, Tellers, and all operational support departments.
Works with operational support departments to implement new processes and monitor branch operational activities.
The position reports directly to the Head of Branch Operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
College degree preferred but not required More than 10 years' experience in retail banking required Branch Operations Manager or commensurate experience required Prior Teller Supervisor and/or Regional Branch Operations management experience strongly preferred, with proven track record in loss reduction, risk management, and efficiency control Extensive knowledge of banking policy, procedure, products and regulations required Extensive knowledge of deposit/loan operations strongly preferred Proficient analytical skills required.
Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and implementation skills Must be able to resolve problems and improve processes quickly, effectively and professionally Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required Must be able to motivate and influence others Must be able to travel.
Frequent travel to branch locations required Knowledge of banking applications and Microsoft Excel/Word required DUTIES/
Responsibilities:
Respond to branch inquiries including platform and teller on operational issues in a quick and efficient manner Responsible for the operational management and integrity of all branches within the region Create and maintain appropriate levels of operational focus, integrity and control strategies within region Act as functional liaison for operational activities between Branches and all operational support departments Act as primary operational contact for City President, Financial Center Manager, and branch Associates Work with operational support departments to implement new processes and monitor branch operational activities Assist in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and operational projects within area Review bank policy and procedure for reasonableness and provide recommended changes to supervisor May be responsible for the creation and distribution of certain departmental reports.
Conduct periodic branch operational audits to ensure adherence to policy and procedure Discuss audit findings and develop resolutions with Market Leadership Ensure acceptable audit results and adherence to bank and regulatory procedures Work with Market Leadership and Branch Operations to ensure corrective action and proper documentation is completed for findings identified within internal and external audits Conduct surprise cash audits as directed Meet periodically with market leadership to discuss branch operational performance Use observational coaching to interact with staff and identify operational inefficiencies and risk Assist in the coordination of branch openings, closings, relocations and reductions in branch services.
Assist with bank acquisitions or conversions Work with various departments to support and implement new initiatives Participate in all required training sessions for Compliance Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility Implement bank-directed changes relating to regulatory amendments Support Retail Sales initiatives to ensure clients receive an exceptional level of customer service.
