Incumbents in this classification serve groups of individuals with varied backgrounds by providing counseling and/or referral services to meet emergency, temporary, or long-term needs. Duties include assessing and evaluating clients, entering data into computer, generating reports, and organizing group meetings. Work is performed with moderate supervision.
WORK LOCATION: Youth and Family Development, 501 W. 12th Street
NOTE: This is a Grant-Funded position.
Examples of Duties:
Interviews and counsels clients requiring assistance from the Chattanooga Human Services Department to achieve a level of self-sufficiency to determine the nature and degree of the problems. Secures all information necessary to evaluate factors contributing to the client's situation, evaluates them and client's abilities; develops a service plan in conjunction with the client to address the barriers identified; refers clients to community resources and other organizations and compiles and maintains client records.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration or Social Work; and two (2) years of experience working with clients in similar situations. Must be comfortable talking to groups of various sizes and be sufficiently computer literate to complete and write reports and correspondence.
Bilingual verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish is preferred.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Driver's License required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
